Yu Nagaba has delighted the Pokémon community with not one but two limited edition set releases. His unique art style and charisma has appeared on playmats, promo cards, deck boxes and so much more. Recently we reported that a second wave of content is going to be released, this time focusing on the eevee-lutions. Now Starting May 20th, a whole clothing and brand line is also going to be available.
The 2023 Collectors Chest has been revealed! Every year like clockwork we get our hands on the newest tin lunchbox with the latest Pokémon on the front. This year is no different. The Paldea region is front and center with the three adorable starters.
Word spreads fast and the latest news is the upcoming TCG expansion on August 11th. The newest English set is known as Obsidian Flame! The set will feature delta species (adjacent) Pokémon including a dark type Charizard. This mimics the early 2000’s sets and the off type Pokémon it focused on
The cards are out and our friends at TCGplayer have run the numbers. The conclusion is that things are different this time. We're looking at the pull rates and rarities of the newest Pokémon TCG expansion. The biggest takeaway is that all the cards in any given rarity level all have approximately the same pull rate. Typically, one card in any set of alternate arts, for example, will be way harder to pull than the others. Like how the Charizard alt in brilliant stars is harder to pull than the Honchkrow alt. In Scarlet and Violet they are equal.
Team Rocket has struck again but this time in the real world. Recently, a picture has been floating around of a table full of stacks of Fusion Strike hits. The products were reportedly stolen and the Pokémon company has been looking into the scandal. The investigation concluded in 2022 but fans are only recently seeing the story. The next question from fans became, “did they affect our terrible fusion strike hit rates?”
Scarlet and Violet has been out now for several weeks and prices have settled after the hype has moved on to Snow Hazard and Clay Burst. Now is the best time to take a look at the value of the cards and determine the best from S&V’s inaugural expansion.
Pokémon has succeeded in creating another awesome expansion with Snow Hazard and Clay Burst… maybe a little too good. The company announced that they are going to be printing thousands more Clay Burst boxes to keep up with the overwhelming demand for the product. Images taken from fans show what waiting in line for boxes looked like on opening night.
Every once in a while, Pokémon releases an unforgettable collaboration. Now, for the second time, Pokémon has partnered with Yu Nagaba to create a Eevee special box! Yu is famous for his simplistic line artwork that creates adorable versions of our favorite Pokémon! The collaboration will only be available in Japan on May 24th, the “Special Box” costs 4,800 yen. The portfolio will cost 1,980 yen and include ten 9-pocket pages that can store 180 cards. The display frame will cost 1,490 yen.
The Pokémon center has released some cool new products to go along with the Japanese release of Clay Hazard and Snow Burst. The new line of sleeves, deck boxes, card frames and a playmat are now available.
Another exciting announcement from the Pokémon champions league 2023 has been confirmed. The Pokémon 151 special set is being released on June 16th right after Snow Hazard and Clay burst. The set is igniting fans over the return of Kadabra. All the cards will be in numeric order from their origin. Cards today are usually organized by type but this special set will start with Bulbasaur and end with Mew. Stay tuned for any updates and more previews. It is crazy to think that the second Scarlet and Violet expansion is already slated and ready to go. But word has spread, Snow Hazard and Clay Burst have become available in Japan on April 14th. Pictures have started to spread and we now have images for a majority of the cards both common and rare. Our combined set will include: Over 190 cards 15 Pokémon ex and three Tera Pokémon ex 36 illustration rare Pokémon 18 ultra rare Pokémon ex and eight ultra rare Supporter cards 15 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards Nine hyper rare gold etched cards, which can include Pokémon ex, Trainer, and Energy cards
The Pokémon European International Championships has kicked off and to celebrate, Pokémon is offering a free Miraidon illustration rare for the first 100,000 entrants. Head over to The Pokémon Card Game Live before it expires on April 24th and type in code “LondonEUIC2023” to redeem it.
