Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet Pull Rates

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet Pull Rates

The cards are out and our friends at TCGplayer have run the numbers. The conclusion is that things are different this time. We're looking at the pull rates and rarities of the newest Pokémon TCG expansion. The biggest takeaway is that all the cards in any given rarity level all have approximately the same pull rate. Typically, one card in any set of alternate arts, for example, will be way harder to pull than the others. Like how the Charizard alt in brilliant stars is harder to pull than the Honchkrow alt. In Scarlet and Violet they are equal.

Starting with the double rare cards like the ex’s, of which there are 12, there will be 1 in every 7 packs. If you are looking for a specific ex. Your chances drop to 1 in 87 packs. At that point I recommend straight up buying the card. Most of them go for less than a dollar.

Next up is the Ultra Rare cards. These are the full art and full art trainers. These cards add a lot of flair to your normal exs and you can get them fairly easily. Each one is only 1 in 15 packs. (that's 2 per booster box) if you're looking for a specific one you will be at 1 in 309 packs. Once again it's easier to just buy them. With the exception of Gardevoir, they usually go for 2 dollars.

The next toughest find is the illustration rare cards. There are 24 of them in the deck and the art on these really stands out. Getting any one of these cards amounts to about 1 in 13 packs. A specific one runs at 1 in 313 packs. The majority of these cards go between 2 and 5 dollars. Except hilariously, for slowpoke.

The special illustration cards are next. Now we're getting into the rare stuff. There are 12 of these and it takes on average 1 in 32 packs to pull one. This category includes fan favorites like Miriam and Gardevior ex. If you are looking for one in particular it jumps down to 1 in 318 packs. Opening 318 packs would be fun but it would also cost you 1431 dollars. Miriam ex costs 63 dollars. I'll let you decide which is better.

Lastly we have the Hyper rare cards. These are your gold cards. There are 6 and they are dazzling. Finding one of these is really special since they only come in at 1 in 54 packs. A specific one is 1 in 324 packs. They are not the most sought after or the most expensive but they do look good.

Come into Nexgen and show us how lucky you got with your pulls. And if you need more packs to pull or singles to complete come on into the shop or buy some at pokemonplug.com
