Unfortunately, sad news came to Pokémon fans. On January 31st Pokémon made an announcement that TPCGO will be receiving its final update on March 1st, 2023. Crown Zenith will be its final expansion. It will be sad to see it go. 

There is a silver lining. Many trainers might already be aware of The Pokémon Card Game Live. This will be TPCGO’s replacement.

Make sure to check the FAQ to make sure you are prepared for the change. There is no current deadline to transfer.

Now that Crown Zenith is out and Elite Trainer Boxes are available everywhere, we can tell how rare, and how valuable, these cards have turned out to be. Pokémon has held nothing back for the Sword and Shield Finale and some of the prices reflect that. It will be exciting to see how the value of these cards progress as Scarlet and Violet takes the stage but I know personally this will be a set worth completing.

Konami is celebrating 25 years of their massive TCG: Yu-Gi-Oh.

as of January 2021, the game is estimated to have sold about 35 billion cards worldwide and grossed over $9.64 billion.  25 years later, Yu-Gi-Oh is ready to party and it is dropping some exciting products for you to join in on the fun.

Yu-Gi-Oh is re-releasing 5 vintage sets. They will come in a legendary collection box but will also be available in standard booster box format. The sets are:

An all new Magic the Gathering special limited run set is available now. Dominaria Remastered is officially in stores. The set recalls 27 past sets from 1993 up to 2019. The sets all have a common bond. They took place on the plane of Rath on Dominaria. Like most full sets, they are sold as in Draft Boosters, a Draft Pack and Collector Boosters.

This set is fully draftable. It comes with 261 regular cards (101 commons, 80 uncommons, 60 rares,  and 20 mythic rares) There will also be randomly inserted premium versions of some cards. This can include alternate arts, retro frames, retro lands, and borderless. (for a total of 457 cards)

Starting in March when Scarlet and Violet is released, all new art rare cards will become available! Whole evolutions will tell a story such as the Gardevoir line.

These cards will be denoted with AR (art rare) and SAR (super art rare). Here is a closer look at some of the most anticipated cards for 2023’s Scarlet and Violet.

As we get closer to the release of Crown Zenith this year we will begin to uncover more details about the cards and products that are being released. Each legendary bird has appeared more than a few times in the Sword and Shield era. Now they appear one more time as full art Promo cards for the Crown Zenith Tins. 

This expansion will come with a new group of V boxes and Premium Collections. Regieleki and Regidrago are featured on V boxes. There is also a  Special Collection featuring Pikachu V and VMAX and the Morpeko V-UNION Playmat Collection.

The current Pokémon TCG competitive pool is getting rotated once again. But this time there will be some unexpected changes. This time legality is being determined by a regulation mark. On the bottom left corner of most modern cards there is a letter in a white box. This letter determines if a card is usable. Currently,  the letters D, E, and F are all legal. Starting March 30th, any card denoted with a D will be removed.

Any set released after March 30th will also be legal 2 weeks after the release date.
