Pokémon TCG: New Pack Configuration

Pokémon TCG: New Pack Configuration

Many changes are coming to the English Pokémon TCG world. The cards themselves have undergone all kinds of aesthetic and logistical changes. Now, its time for the packs to get a rework.

First things first, the price of a Pokémon pack has gone up. The cost has gone from $3.99 to $4.49. This is partly to do with rising costs. However, Pokémon has made up for the price hike with a fun surprise. Each pack will now come with 3 guaranteed holofoil cards. 2 of them will be reverse holofoil and one holofoil rare. Non-holo rare is a thing of the past. This means more sparkle and more fun in every pack.

That makes the final tally: 7 common cards, 2 reverse-holos, 1 holo-rare, an energy, and a code card.

If you are lucky enough to get an Art Rare card, that will appear in the second reverse-holo spot. Any double rare or ultra rare cards will still appear in the holofoil spot. For trainers who like to build suspense, this means the pack trick has changed from 4 cards to 1. After discarding the code card, you only have to move the energy to the front.

The Scarlet and Violet release date is rapidly approaching. On March 31st the booster boxes will become available so be sure you are ready with pre-orders to collect as many exciting art-rare cards as you can.
